The Open Architectural Competition for Preliminary Designs for a stadium in the Study for the "erection of a landmark" along the central pier, which is set out for Regeneration Zone I of the Faliron Bay in Attica was organised by the Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change and, specifically, by the Directorate for Special Projects for Regional Regeneration, at the expense of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. 

Highlighting the seafront of the city of Athens is a matter of priority, given its environmental, cultural and economic significance in supporting the city as a Mediterranean Capital. Faliron Bay in particular is included in the environmental plans of national and international scale. Within this framework, the Faliron Bay Metropolitan Park is planned to include cultural, educational, sporting and recreational facilities. The object of the Architectural Competition is to create a construction, which will function as a landmark within the sea, on the central pier of the Cultural Axis of the planned Park and which will constitute a reference point for the area and the city and a specific attraction. 

The exhibition will present the 28 entries in the Competition, along with plans, texts and models.

The opening of the exhibition will be preceded by a discussion on the subject "The Landmark of Faliro Bay".
