The renaissance of the church of St. Nicholas at Ground Zero not only replaces the one destroyed on the 11th of September when so many people lost their lives, but it is also brought into the context of the new Ground Zero area with a very special role as the only non-secular building.
The building is a landmark, being the National Shrine of the Greek Orthodox Church of America and it is designed as a place open to everyone, regardless of the religion, a place for worship, pray, meditation and welcoming.
The rich material of the exhibition consisting mainly of sketches, drawings, plans, photographs and audiovisual material presents the stages of the recreation of the church.
