The Benaki Museum participates in one of the most important international athletic events of the year, the 36th Athens Marathon. The Authentic, organized by SEGAS - Hellenic Athletics Federation and taking place on Sunday, November 11, 2018.

Eighteen great distance runners from several countries will be running the unique authentic marathon route of 42 km in order to support the mission of the Benaki Museum.

 Following this generous offer, on Saturday, November 10th 2018, the Museum will be offering to runners of all races of the “Athens Marathon. The Authentic”, the opportunity to visit its collections and exhibitions with free admission to all the Benaki Museum buildings (Museum of Greek Culture, Museum of Islamic Art, Ghika Gallery, Benaki Toy Museum and Benaki Museum / Pireos 138), upon display of their registration number at the entrance. 

Furthermore, it has organized thematic tours for runners at the full registration level and educational programs for junior runners.
