An event launching "The Music of the Arabs", a book by distinguished Arab musicologist and former Professor of the University of Berlin, Mr. Habib Hassan Tuma, which deals exclusively with the traditional music of Arab peoples, both secular and religious, constituting an introduction to Arab musical culture.
The event will include talks by: the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Euripides Stylianidis; Professor Vassilis Christidis; Professor Lambros Liavas, Director of the Museum of Greek Popular Musical Instruments; and Vassilis Tzortzinis, musician - the book's translator.
The book launch will be coordinated by Kyriakos Kalaïtzidis, artistic director of the cultural organisation “En Hordais”.
Members of the musical group “En Hordais” and Tunisian singer Lamia Bedioui will provide a live performance of Greek and Arabic music for the event.
