On the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the Vakalo School, the directors of the Vakalo School of Art and Design are organising a celebratory event.
Speakers at the event will include Daniel Gounaridis, director of studies and chairman of the B.o.D. of the Vakalo School; Professor John Coyne, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Derby, a collaborating institution; Antonis Kotidis, professor of art history at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki; and Effie Strouza, President of the Hellenic Association of Art Critics (AICA-Hellas); while Angelos Delivorrias, director of the Benaki Museum, will address the gathering.  At the event honorary plaques will be awarded to academician Panayiotis Tetsis and Frantzis Frantziskakis, who are amongst the founders of the Vakalo School.
