Architecture historian Francesco Dal Co presents architect Carlo Scarpa, a multidimensional personality of the modern movement. His major works include the Venezuelan Pavilion in the Giardini at the Venice Biennale, the Castelvecchio Museum in Verona and the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice.
Francesco Dal Co is professor of the History of Architecture at IUAV, a position he has held since 1981. Since 1996 he has been head of the Architectural Division of the Electa publishing house in Milan. He is a Senior Fellow at Center for Advanced Study, at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, and at the Academy of San Luca. Some of his most significant books are monographs on Carlo Scarpa, Frank O. Gehry, Tadao Ando and Arata Isozaki, as well as a volume on Modern Architecture in collaboration with Manfredo Tafuri.
Francesco Dal Co will be introduced by Panagiotis Tournikiotis, Professor at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens.
The lecture will be given in English.
