The Benaki Museum is holding an event honouring Greek photographer Kostas Balafas, announcing to the public the major gift of the artist’s archive to the Benaki Museum.
There will talks about the photographer’s oeuvre by:
Angelos Delivorrias, Director of the Benaki Museum
Marinos Geroulanos, Member of the Benaki Museum B.o.D.;
Alekos Papadopoulos, Member of Parliament for the Second District of Athens, former minister of state.
Heracles Papaioannou, Curator of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography
Fanny Konstantinou, Curator of the Photographic Archive of the Benaki Museum.
During the event there will be a showing of the film “Mia poli me palia arhontia kai logia paradosi” (A city of old nobility and learned tradition), by Kostas Balafas, about life in the town of Ioannina, dating from around 1970.
