Discussion at the conference will include inter alia mainly art history, as well as important biographies of artists and others who contributed to this art (curators, publishers, art theorists), mainly in the interwar years, who formulated the image of modern Greek art, as well as significant conducive social and artistic milieus.
Discussions will emphasise the contemporary theoretical reading of the relationship between traditional and contemporary, as this is transformed in the contrast between centre and regions; international and local; and even by raising the issue of what the the other is, differences in culture, and proposals that these gave rise to, concerning art and culture in a single united world.
Finally, modern art will be presented within the framework of social participation and as a factor of social and economic / cultural development. At the same time, references will be made concerning the operational and institutional problems presented by various collections and museums today.
