An evening dedicated to poet Yannis Ritsos by the Culture Department of Synaspismos, as part of the Year of Ritsos, celebrating the centenary of the poet’s birth.

At this event, participating actors play the same role they played in past performances, accompanied by live music, written specifically for those performances. These will be accompanied by videotaped excerpts from those past performances.

Participants include actors: Nikos Aivalis, Nonika Galinea, Yiorgos Yeogleris, Irini Igglesi, Marianna Kalbari, Eva Kotamanidou, Konstantinos Konstantopoulos, Dimosthenis Papadopoulos, Vana Pefani, Reni Pittaki, Effie Roditi, Kerassia Samara, Effie Stamouli, Minas Hatzisavvas, Nikos Psarras – singer Kostas Thomaidis and musician Thodoris Economou.
The evening will be presented by Yiorgos Kimoulis and directed by Yiorgos Yeogleris.

The event will be accompanied by an exhibition including theatrical documents (programmes, photographs, some of the poet’s manuscripts, posters etc.) of Yannis Ritsos performances both in Greece and overseas.
