Lecture by Arthuro Vargas, Associate Professor at the University of Athens and an expert in Pre-Columbian civilizations. His lecture is entitled: “Pre-Columbian Art at the Benaki Museum” and will take place in parallel to the exhibition “Pre-Columbian Art at the Benaki Museum: The George C. Gontikas Collection”. It will focus on the Andean cultures of South America, the cultural groupings that lived along the Andes mountain range and which are characterised by common acts of worship, as well as many common technological elements.
