The event is organised commemorating the 2,500 years of the Battle of Marathon. 

It will begin with the introductory remarks of Dr Evangelos Venetis, Director of the Society for Hellenic-Iranian Studies (Athens), Mrs. Fatema Soudavar Farmanfarmayan, Director of the Soudavar Memorial Foundation and Dr Mina Houtan, Director of the Houtan Foundation (New York). 
 
The well known expert in Ancient History, Prof. Emerita Amelie Kuhrt, FBA, University College London is going to give a speech about the image of the Achemenids amongst Ancient Greeks before during and after the Marathon Battle.
