His lively personal interest in the developments of contemporary architecture and in following these from the point they appeared, as well as his subsequent attempts to comprehend their role in the fabric of history and place, led to an indirect experiential perception, where his quest was directed by from the literature of the field to journeys to visual contact with what was taking place. How to interpret architectural trends through a web of questions, concerning their relationship with previous and subsequent architectural developments, are issues which will be addressed in this talk. Topics that will be examined include the use of glass in architecture, as well as building exceedingly high buildings. This lecture is taking place within the framework of the themed chapter “Season of lectures by Greek artists organised by the Hellenic Institute of Architecture in collaboration with the Benaki Museum.
