Lecture by the Professor Molly Greene

Molly Greene is a Professor of History and Hellenic Studies at Princeton University. In her work she concentrates on the Greek experience under Ottoman rule. Her lecture is entitled "Greek Commerce and the Counter-Reformation".  
Her first book, A Shared World: Christians and Muslims in the Early Modern Mediterranean (Princeton University Press: 2000), considered the transition from Venetian to Ottoman sovereignty on the island of Crete in the 17th century. Her second book, entitled Catholic Pirates and Greek Merchants: A Maritime History of the Mediterranean (Princeton University Press: 2010), was co-winner of the 2010 Runciman Award. As fellow (2012) of the Alexander S. Onassis Foundation, she is currently at work on a synthetic history of the Greeks under Ottoman rule for the University of Edinburgh Press.
