Filippos Tsalachouris has composed over 80 works, which have been performed in many countries by leading musical groups. He is considered one of the most prolific and active composers of his generation. In 2008 he was awarded the Papaioannou Prize by the Academy of Athens.
A quarter of a century has gone by since 1988 and Liturgy op.1, the first piece he composed at nineteen, which was recorded in Moscow.
To celebrate this anniversary the Athens Camerata, now known as Armonia Atenea - The Friends of Music Orchestra, will present five distinctive pieces with select guest soloists, conducted by the composer.
The concert will commence with a composition by Dimitris Dragatakis, in honour of Tsalachouris, as a composer and teacher.
