The Benaki Museum, in a series of events seeks to honour and highlight the work carried out by culture organisations in the Greek provinces that focuses on the study and promotion of culture. In line with this policy, for the sixth year running, the Benaki Museum will celebrate World Museum Day with an event honouring the Kalamata International Dance Festival.

After nineteen years as an active presence in the Greek dance scene, thanks to the support of the local authorities the Kalamata Festival has earned itself a special place on the festival map of the Mediterranean South, and built bridges to international dance creativity.

There will be talks about the Kalamata International Dance Festival by:

Giorgos Loukos, Art Director of Athens and Epidaurus Festival - Honorary Member of Kalamata International Dance Festival,
Thanos Mikroutsikos, Composer,
Stavros Benos, President of "Diazoma" Association
Dimitris Papaioannou, Chorographer - Honorary Member of  Kalamata International Dance Centre and
Vicky Maragopolou, Director of Kalamata International Dance Centre.

The welcome speech will be given by Angelos Delivorrias, Director of the Benaki Museum.
