The music ensemble Terpnon will perform at the Museum of Islamic Art a concert of Ottoman music with compositions from 16th-17th century Istanbul presented in a shorter-experimental synthesis.

The music ensemble Terpnon consists of Greek and Turkish musicians based in Istanbul. It pursues the research, study and spread of the music tradition of the Ottoman period in Istanbul as inspired by the cosmopolitan air of the sultan’s court and the tradition of the Mevlevi dervishes as well as the orthodox mysticism of the Patriarchal chanters.
