The International Festival of Animation and Forum animasyros prepares its seventh edition and celebrates with a spectacular event! The Festival will “invade” Syros Island from 02 to 05 October 2014, with a rich program dedicated to the art of animated film! This year’s programming includes two competition sections (Student and International) with international and Greek short films, powerful national premieres, tributes to great artists, animation studios & festivals, a women's perfume as well as outdoor screenings at Miaouli Square outside the imposing City Hall of Syros. 
On this occasion animasyros will present to the Athenian public a taste of this year’s actions in the first pre-festival event, which will take place on September 29, 2014 at 19.00 at the Benaki Museum (Piraeus Buiding), with the support of the Museum. 

Among other things, the public will have the opportunity to attend a screenings program that includes the best of animated films screened at the previous edition of the Festival as well as the results of the training activities carried out successfully for seven years by the festival. 

With the support of the US Embassy in Athens, the honorary guest of the event will be Mark Shapiro a representative of the highly acclaimed US animation studio, LAIKA, who will present the mostly anticipated new film Boxtrolls premiering in Greece at animasyros 7.0.
