A speech by Mrs Fotini Kaϊmaki about the language and the culture of Greece of Salento with authentic music recordings and slide show.

Fotini Kaϊmaki studied Literature in Athens. The last twenty years she has been studying the Greek culture of southern Italy. Her research in Calabria and Salento has resulted in the publication of the volume "Greek-speaking Calabria» 2003 as well as "Greece of Salento” 2008. She has participated in international conferences in Lecce (2000) and in Corigliano d’Otranto (2005) about the language of the Greek-speaking. In 2012-2013 the Byzantine Museum of Athens organized an exhibition entitled “The Byzantine Salento through the photographic lens of Fotini Kaimaki” with photos of the churches of Salento. She has published a collection of poems “Let the language be shaken” (2007).
