The famous soprano avant-garde Composer and pianist Marika Klampatsea, familiar to Greek public by winning the National Award 2003 Chamber Opera «Calamity Jane: Letters to her daughter,(1877-1902)” presented on 25 April with huge success at the Athens Concert Hall's new project titled "STRANGE FRUIT ".

The concert will be presented one more time at the Benaki Museum. Strange Fruit highlighted the particular timbre, flexibility and explanatory power of the soprano voice that oscillates from Opera to Rock, the Musical or Spiritual that skillfully connects everything within the terms of an innovative approach to music and composition.

The title of the concert is the title of a song sung by Billie Holiday "Strange Fruit" by composer Handler Carter against racism, and that becomes the centerpiece of this concert who wants to emphasize and highlight the diversity.

In this concert the soprano follows the voices of Klaus Nomi, Andreas Sholl, and Elvis Presley, Jannis Joplin, Judy Garland, Mahalia Jackson, Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf and Lotte Lenya.
The classical and the baroque coexists with contemporary improvisation with Blues, Spirituals, Gospels, Slave songs, songs of prison, Rock, and Musical.
