OPEN DISCUSSION Art and Activism: Defining the relationship between aestheticization and political action

An open discussion will take place wiithin the context of the exhibition Depression Era,  with speakers from the disciplines of art theory, philosophy and journalism. 
The discussion will explore of the notion of “META” or AFTER, as a draft for thought, a mental projection on the future, imagining a next day after the crisis, questioning the role and the limits of artistic creation, the involvement of art in the political and social sphere. 
This train of thought begins on the last wall/ station of the exhibition: there, draft mosaic of texts and ideas on “META,” will be used as the discussion’s starting point, together with Boris Groys’ text On Art Activism – a major point of reference for the collective’s work http://www.e-flux.com/journal/on-art-activism/
