A lecture by the art historian Dr Mirka Palioura, on the artistic oeuvre of Theodoros Rallis, inspired by Greece and Middle East, and formed in the European current framework of Orientalism and carried out according to the academic technique of the French school, contributing at the creation of a new artistic tradition in Greece. 

Mirka Palioura, was born in Athens. She studied Philosophy in the University of Athens and made her postgraduate studies in History of Art, at the Sorbonne University (Paris I, Sorbonne – Pantheon) in Pari. She works on maters concerning Neo-Hellenic Art, mainly between 19th and early 20th century.
