Stasima: Giorgos Psaltis
World premiere

The oratotio by Filippos Tsalachouris is presented in the context of Greek Music Festival 2016. The composition which was completed in November 2015 is based on the Gospel of Mark and narrates the last hours of Jesus, from the Arrest in the Gethsemane to the Crucifixion. The narrative is structured-as is the standard construction of the Passions from the 17th century- with interstitial poetic stasima written by the poet George Psaltis.
