This workshop is primarily based on sound and its potential to create visual impressions. Unique recordings of jewelry pieces from the Benaki Museum recompose a scenery that extends back to the Mycenaean and Hellenistic times. By focusing on artists' ideas around the interaction between sound and art, the workshop also seeks to explore our current relationship with everyday intimate sounds coming from jewels or other objects. As always, touch is an important component of the Benaki's Seeing with the Senses access programs.
It is the opening event of the Lab for Multisensory Narratives-Seeing with the Senses.
The workshop will be presented in English.
In collaboration with the U.S.A Embassy in Athens.
