Launch of the new double volume 13-14 of the MOUSEIO BENAKI  journal. This event will include:

A welcome speech by Angelos Delivorrias, member of the Academy of Athens and member of the Benaki Board of Trustees,
Lectures by Maria Vassilaki, Professor in the History of Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Art, University of Thessaly, and editor of the issue, and
by Robin Cormack, Professor Emeritus, History of Art, Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London.

The MOUSEIO BENAKI 13-14 (2013-2014) issue is a tribute to the painter Angelos, his time and Cretan painting. It includes fourteen unpublished studies by Greek and foreign academics, that owe their existence to the exhibition Hand of Angelos: An icon painter in Venetian Crete. organized by the Benaki Museum in 2010-2011. A number of these studies were presented as talks at the Benaki Museum, in a lecture series that took place during the exhibition, but most of them were presented as papers at the Symposium dedicated to Angelos and held at the Benaki in Januaery 2011.
