Τhe book presents the Benaki Museum collection of Hellenistic gold jewellery regarding both the typology of the ornaments and the elaborate techniques of their manufacture. A separate chapter is devoted to the historical frame, in which goldsmithing flourished. The author has selected seven jewels, that she examines thoroughly using extensive comparative material.
