The Spring Equinox on March 21st marks the start of spring; for this reason this day was chosen as World Poetry Day.
Under the auspices of this celebration, there will be a function with readings of poems by 75 Greek poets. The presentation will take place in two parts. The poems will be read by the poets themselves, by actors, a priest, a hero and children from faraway countries. The Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, Mr. Costas Karamanlis, duties permitting, will be present and will recite the Ieros Lochos (The Sacred Band) by Kalvos.
The performance was designed by Marietta Rialdi and the music was written by Notis Mavroudis.
