Within the framework of the Art Athina month, which is what the month of May has now become, a one day symposium will be held on the topic of “The role of art fairs in shaping new artistic regions”.
The symposium will deal with the role played by art fairs in a province in developing local artistic scenes and their influence on the cultural image of a place. Speakers will include directors of important art fairs, collectors, gallery directors, art historians, as well as experts on topics of art and the market. Special mention should be made of talks by Rosina Gomez Baezam, director of ARCO for the last twenty years, and Hou Hanrou, curator of the Istanbul Biennale.
The symposium will be broadcast live over the internet.
