This exhibition presents the oeuvre of Yiannis A. Papaioannou (1910-1989), one of Greece's most significant twentieth century composers. The material presented is from the composer's archive, which was donated to the Benaki Museum by his widow Eirini following his death. During the exhibition a specially constructed "station" will play excerpts from his works, while a series of singular musical events organised by Mr. Theodoros Antoniou, President of the Greek Association of Composers, will take place in tandem with the exhibition.
Soloist Alexandra Papastefanou will honour the event with her presence.
