This book contains the section that has been preserved of the text “Memoirs of my artistic life” by Pavlos Carrer (1829-1896), a Zakynthian composer and significant representative of the so-called Ionian Island School of music. The text is preceded by the editor’s extensive introduction to the work of Carrer and the fate of Ionian Island music in the modern Greek state. The book ends with a detailed list of works and music manuscripts by Pavlos Carrer.
