This book contains photographs of the works painted by poet Yiannis Ritsos on rocks, roots and other material. The theme of these works is the human figure, as it emerges from this diversified material: “Every material has its own features, inspires different forms. Roots suggest wildness. Bones and stones suggest beauty or sadness” (from the poet’s note). The material published is divided into three chapters. “Rocks”, “Roots of Greekness” and “Paintings”, and is accompanied by introductory and closing texts about Ritsos’ works of visual art.
