Benaki Museum. A Guide to the Museum of Islamic Art

The publication presents works of Islamic Art that are housed in the Benaki Museum - Museum of Islamic Art, in the Kerameikos area. It is a guide that can accompany visitors round the museum halls and inform them about the objects on display, which cover eleven centuries (from the 8th to the 19th century) and come from all the regions where Islamic culture flourished. The publication also includes extensive introductory notes on Islamic Art as well as Antonis Benakis, who gathered this collection, as well as the Ancient Greek finds that came to light when excavating the foundations of the building.
