PUBLICATIONS

This volume contains three hundred and thirty-seven pre-revolutionary announcements of text publications, composed by authors, translators and publishers, for the consumption of subscribers, concerning the publication of ground-breaking books, newspapers and magazines.  The scheduling / promotional discourse of these texts bears the clear imprint of the world-shaking changes that represent the demarcation line separating the 18th from the 19th century, along with their impact on the collective conscious.
The material was drawn mainly from the remnants collected by Filippos Eliou, with a foreword by Popi Polemi, notes and a detailed index, and highlights in a concise and succinct manner, the dominant ideological grounds that typified the manner of thinking and dictated the actions of Greek-speaking men of letters in the years of the Enlightenment.
