This book was published to mark sixty years since the death of major Greek composer Nikos Skalkottas (1904-1949). A group of fourteen musicologists, composers, conductors, historians, critics and translators collaborated on this volume, under the supervision of composer Charis Vrontos, who also served as its artistic director, Eleni Varopoulou, Michel Bichsel, Charis Vrontos, Kostis Demertzis, Giorgos Zervos, Ludwig Holtmeier, Apostolos Kostios, Eva Mantzourani, Giannis Mpelonis, Lorenta Ramou, Andreas Rikakis, John Thornley, Vyron Fidetzis, Nikos Christodoulou. The book includes a detailed timeline, the curricula vitae of the collaborating authors and an index of names.
