Published on the occasion of the retrospective Kyriakos Krokos 1941 - 1998, organised by the Benaki Museum (Piraios Street Annexe, May 25 - July 29, 2012) which attempts, for the first time, to provide an integrated presentation of the complete oeuvre of this major Greek architect. The book presents Kyriakos Krokos’s architectural oeuvre, through 47 architectural projects, with photographs, blueprints and free-hand plans, sketches and models, as well as his paintings, through 150 select creations. The goal of this book is to offer the reader a sample of Kyriakos Krokos’s style, both in architecture and in painting. Highlighting this presentation of Krokos’s architectural and painting oeuvre are three texts about his architecture, by Andreas Yiakoumatos, Elias Konstantopoulos and Wilfried Wang; two about his painting by Alekos Levidis and Thanassis Moutsopoulos; one testimony by Maria Kokkinou and Andreas Kourkoulas and one descriptive timeline by Letty Arvaniti Krokou. The texts accompany two lesser-known interviews of Kyrkakos Krokos, the first of which was given to architect Kyriakos Kosmas (1990) and the second to poet Sotiris Kakissis (1995).
