Coulentianos. The last of the modern acrobats
The extensive and aesthetically pleasing catalogue accompanies the exhibition, which was held at the Benaki Museum from September 27, 2012 to January 5, 2013 and at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art (Thessaloniki, February – March 2013). Approximately 300 sculptures, which are included in the catalogue, even if they do not represent the entirety of the artist’s creative output, constitute a representative sample thereof. The detailed scholarship by the curator, the informative notes, the analytical chronology and catalogue of solo and group exhibitions introduce the reader to the world of the sculptor, who through the sparing lines of his oeuvre expressed crucial moments in the investigations of European modernism.
