"The World of Emmanuel Vourekas” was published on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition of the same name, which was organised by the Benaki Museum (October – December 2012). The publication presents for the first time an integrated record of the oeuvre of Manolis Vourekas (1907-1992), a major Greek architect, who commenced his career between WWI and WWII, and became known in the first years following WWII. His dynamic presence had an impact on the creations in Athens during the second half of the twentieth century. The publication presents the oeuvre of Manolis Vourekas, in its time and place context, so that it is easy for the reader to comprehend the architect’s contribution to the shape, form, style and ethos of Neohellenic architecture. The book includes a complete list of works by Manolis Vourekas.
