The publication, accompanying the under the same title exhibition (Museum of Islamic Art, April – July 2018), is dedicated to the evolution of writing, but also to modern calligraphy creation. Through the photographic material (books and objects of the collection of the Benaki Museum) and the accompanying texts, the reader is informed about the history of the calligraphy from the 9th to the 19th century, while it comes in contact with samples of modern calligraphy, through works of poetic as well as religious content of Iranian calligrapher Mojtaba Sabjeh.
